Windows Hot Keys

You should find some of these quite useful
  Hot Key   Purpose
Ctrl + Shift + Esc To open the Windows Task Manager.
F1 To open the Windows XP Help system.
F2 To rename the selected file or folder.
F3 To open Windows search for files and folders.
F5
or Ctrl + R
To refresh Internet Explorer page, or active window
F6 To cycle through the different types of selection elements on a screen or window.
F10 To select the menu bar of the active program. Use arrow keys
to navigate through the menus and select with the Enter key.
Shift + F10 Same as a mouse right-click.
Ctrl + Backspace To delete the entire word on the left of cursor.
PrtScn To capture the entire screen; open an imaging program (the Windows program "Paint" will also work)
and select Edit, Paste in order to edit the screen capture.
Alt + PrtScn To capture only the active Window; open an imaging program (the Windows program "Paint" will also work)
Tab To move through different elements on a web page or the fields in a form.
Shift + Tab To move backward through different elements on a web page or the fields in a form.
Ctrl + Y To redo last action.
Ctrl + O To open a file.
Ctrl + P To print.
Ctrl + Delete To delete the entire word on the right of cursor.
Ctrl + A To select all.
Ctrl + Z To undo most non-file actions.
Ctrl + X To cut. (Can be Pasted elsewhere effectin a Move. See Ctrl + V)
Ctrl + C To copy. (In order to Paste elsewhere.)
Ctrl + V To paste whatever was Copied or Cut previously.
Ctrl + Left Arrow To move the cursor to the start of the previous word.
Ctrl + Right Arrow To move the cursor to the start of the next word.
Ctrl + Up Arrow To move the cursor to the beginning of the previous paragraph.
Ctrl + Down Arrow To move the cursor to the beginning of the next paragraph.
Ctrl + Shift + Arrow Keys To highlight a block of text.
Click Shift 5 Times To turn StickyKeys on or off.
Hold down the right Shift key for 8 seconds To turn FilterKeys on or off.
Shift + Insert CD/DVD To insert a CD/DVD without launching Autorun or Autoplay.
Shift + Delete To permanently delete an item (not sent to the Recycle Bin).
Ctrl + drag a file or icon To copy that item.
Ctrl + Shift + drag a file or icon To create a shortcut for that item.
Right-click + drag a file To Pop up a menu to copy, move, or create a shortcut.
Alt + Tab To switch between open programs.
Alt + F4 To [1] close the active program, or
      [2] open the Windows Shutdown/Restart dialog box.
Alt + Enter To open the Properties page of a selected item.
Alt + Esc To switch between open programs in the order they were opened.
Alt + Spacebar To bring up a corner dialog box for Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize, or Close in the active window.
Windows key or Ctrl + Esc To open the Start menu.
Windows key + E To open My Computer in Windows Explorer.
Windows key + Pause/Break To open the System Properties dialog box.
Windows key + U To open the Utility Manager.
Windows key + R To open the Run prompt.
Windows key + F To open the Search for Files window.
Windows key + Ctrl + F To open the Search for Computers on the Network.
Windows key + M To minimize all windows.
Windows key + Shift + M To restore all windows (after minimizing them).
Windows key + D To minimize all windows to the desktop, and then restore all Windows.
Windows key + L To lock your Computer.
Windows key + Tab To cycle through open programs on the Taskbar.
Windows key + B To select the Beginning item in the System Tray; use the arrow keys to cycle through other items and use
the Enter key to open.
